Sunn O))) are pleased to present Life Metal, their first new studio album in four years, due for release on Southern Lord in April 2019. The album will be supported by their first U.S. tour since 2017 and the premier U.S. tour of their 2019-2020 season, including stops at The Masonic Lodge in Detroit, Howard Theatre in DC, Agora Theatre in Cleveland, The Caves in Pelham, TN and Brooklyn Steel. As the fanfare revolving around their debut LP swells, Philidelphia’s Low Dose have announced a North American tour commencing this April. Kicking off just days following the release of Low Dose (out March 29th), their live show is sure to include bows to the guitar-chugging maelstrom of ‘90s alt-rock ("For Sure”) and bone rattling elegies to love gone wrong (“Right On"). Give a grave enough time and something will grow from it—that’s exactly how Philadelphia four-piece Low Dose was borne to the world. After teasing their grungy, guitar chugging sound last year with “For Sure,” the band has offered another glimpse of their lawless interpretation of alt-rock with the single “Right On." “It's about the frustrations of just trying to exist in the world without being bullied by men constantly,” vocalist Itarya Rosenberg said of the track.
After spending part of 2018 sharing the stage with Neurosis and Converge, AMENRA are hitting the road yet again—joining doom metal torchbearers YOB and metal bastions VOIVOD this Spring. Amenra has also announced a forthcoming documentary chronicling the band’s 20-year legacy.
After announcing their partnership with San Francisco-based label The Flenser, genre-defying five-piece Elizabeth Colour Wheel are offering more clues to what they have in store for the world in 2019. The experimental five-piece have announced the imminent release of their first full-length, Nocebo, due out on March 15.
The partnership between New York electro-minimalists Xeno & Oaklander spans all the way back to 2004, with no shortage of reinvention and experimentation coloring those years. The next act in X&O’s storied catalog is the band’s first release for Dais Records, an LP titled Hypnos, due out on March 8.
Boston, MA five-piece Elizabeth Colour Wheel have announced a partnership with San Francisco-based label The Flenser. In Spring 2019, the band will release their debut full-length which was recorded earlier this year and was mixed/mastered by Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets (The Body, Street Sects). Details for the album will surface soon, and the band will tour along the east coast in anticipation of its release — see all tour dates listed below.
COLD CAVE will head out on tour with renown electronic Detroit duo Adult. and Los Angeles post-punk group Sextile in February and March 2019. The legendary Psychic TV will be joining as a very special guest for the Brooklyn Steel date.
Wear Your Wounds are currently recording a new album with engineer Kurt Ballou at God City Studios. This recording marks the first time the live lineup of the band; Jacob Bannon (Converge), Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord, Stomach Earth, Unraveller, etc), Adam McGrath (Cave In, Nomad Stones, etc), Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex-Hatebreed, ex-Kid Cudi), and Chris Maggio (ex-Trap Them, ex-Sleigh Bells, etc) have properly written and recorded material together. Creative contributions from Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe, White Horse, etc), and Gared O'Donnell (Planes Mistaken for Stars, Hawks and Doves) are also expected. The new album is slated for an early/mid 2019 release on Deathwish with touring to follow.
