EROSION (MEMBERS OF BAPTISTS, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD) ANNOUNCE ‘MAXIMUM SUFFERING’ LP

The world might have heard of Erosion a little sooner if the members weren’t busy sharing duties in a handful of other projects. Guitarist Nick Yacyshyn, drummer Danny Marshall, and bassist Andrew Drury are more widely known for their work in Vancouver’s beloved hardcore veterans Baptists. Rick O’Dell was snagged from his bass duties with sludgy classic rockers Tobeatic and punk rippers Hard Feelings to join Erosion on second guitar while vocalist Jamie Hooper was recruited for the vitriol he unleashed with the triumphant metal export 3 Inches of Blood and the grimy punk band Congress. Given their pedigree, it’s no small wonder that their debut full-length, Maximum Suffering (out October 19 on Hydra Head)exudes the kind of ugliness that only comes from artists steeped in the art of musical ferocity.

BAY AREA POST-BLACK METAL BAND BOSSE-DE-NAGE ANNOUNCE ‘FURTHER STILL’

San Francisco post-black-metal band Bosse-de-Nage has announced its follow-up to 2015’s whiplashing LP All Fours. Titled Further Still, this new album marks a bold diversion from Bosse-de-Nage’s typically sprawling arrangements in favor of airtight, propulsive song structures. Deliberately succinct and fuming, the grip of nine new tracks finds Bosse-de-Nage pitting their unique lyrical structures against hairpin turning melodies.

INDUSTRIAL DUO ECHO BEDS RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO + ANNOUNCE U.S. SHOWS

Echo Beds’ inspiration for their new album stemmed from incidents in December of 2016. The band suddenly found themselves locked out of their rehearsal space, and their gear was being held hostage as city officials all over the country cracked down on unsanctioned artist collectives and the various DIY structures where many outsider creators lived and worked. This weighed heavily on them, and they spent the next 8 months experimenting and writing the material what would become Buried Language in their living rooms. Deprived of their usual tools, Echo Beds was forced to improvise using unfamiliar electronics and various cobbled together devices in order to flesh out the embryonic ideas. With the plight of their colleagues fresh in their minds, these new working conditions served to shape the industrial landscape of Buried Language.

DRAB MAJESTY EMBARKS ON NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH DEAFHEAVEN AND UNIFORM

After releasing post-punk masterpiece The Demonstration and embarking on several massive tours last year, Drab Majesty is back, and on the road in North America now alongside Deafheaven and Uniform. Focusing on the aesthetics of cult ritual and the devastating power of music, Drab Majesty’s live show has become a phenomenon in itself. Fronted by interdimensional muse Deb Demure and anchored by Mona D on keyboard accompaniment, Drab Majesty infuses goth with pulsing synth and shimmery “tragic wave” flourishes.
